The Integrity Services Base Technician role within the Cathodic Protection (CP) department is a hands-on, operational position that plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of products and services across the Oil & Gas, Marine, Defence, and Renewables sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, assembly, testing, maintenance, and repair of CP products and associated equipment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with company procedures, quality standards, and HSEQ requirements. This includes the production and testing of Ag/AgCl electrodes, fault finding and servicing of equipment, and ensuring all products meet stringent QA/QC standards prior to dispatch. The role also supports the preparation and mobilisation of equipment for site operations, contributing directly to project delivery and customer satisfaction.
In addition to technical responsibilities, the position involves managing workshop stores to ensure accurate stock levels, maintaining tools and equipment in good working order, and compiling detailed certification and documentation packs. The technician will work closely with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to support delivery schedules and operational requirements, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing processes and product development. The role requires regular interaction with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders, requiring good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
This is an opportunity for a motivated and practical individual with a strong technical background, ideally supported by an HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience. Candidates should have proven experience in the testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical or technical equipment, along with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety. Experience working with electrical and / or subsea equipment or similar equipment is advantageous, as is familiarity with manufacturing techniques such as assembly, soldering, or potting. Relevant certifications such as PAT testing, COSHH awareness, or forklift operation would be beneficial but are not essential.
The role would suit someone who takes a proactive, hands-on approach, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to working safely and efficiently in a team-oriented environment. It offers the opportunity to play a key part in a high-performing technical function, directly contributing to revenue-generating activities while supporting the ongoing growth and success of the business.
