  • Risk Manager – Glasgow

    Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Risk Manager to join the team.

    About the role:

    As a Risk Manager, you will lead risk management activities across the programme, maintaining risk registers, facilitating reviews and workshops, and providing clear risk reporting. Working closely with stakeholders, you will identify, assess, and mitigate risks to support successful project delivery.

    Key Deliverables:

    • Implement risk management process, including the risk roadmap and Target Operating Model (TOM).  
    • Implement a bottom-up refresh of the project and portfolio risk registers.  
    • Chair the monthly risk review meetings as per project drumbeat and facilitate workshops to develop and maintain the project risk register, to produce meeting minutes and to provide a monthly risk dashboard, capturing the overall risk totals and summary of changes within the month.   
    • Facilitate risk and opportunity identification across the Project, including assistance in development of mitigation plans.  
    • Work collaboratively with the JPT Leads to carry out critical reviews of all risks to ensure that the number of risks contained within each work package are correct and manageable and that there is no overlap or duplication.  
    • Track and report on the status of mitigation actions to ensure they are being managed / risk is reducing.  
    • Support the Quantitative Risk Research (QRR) process to develop Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) and Quantitative Cost Risk Analysis (QCRA) models as required for packages and programme, including the reporting of quarterly Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) and Cost Risk Analysis (CRA) modelling outputs.  
    • Work with Change Management to capture tier 2 and 3 impacts.  
    • Lead on assumptions management and maintaining the Master Data and Assumptions List (MDAL).  
    • Provide strategic / directorate overview of risk to provide risk profiles against time and activities.  
    • Use and promote appropriate leadership styles to gain and maintain the trust, confidence, commitment and collaboration of team members and stakeholders throughout the project ensuring continued momentum.  
    • Maintain a productive working relationship with industry partners and suppliers, monitoring their performance in terms of quality, time, cost and reliability. Identify and manage emerging issues to avoid programme delays or cost escalation.  
    • Be accountable for complying with all agreed processes and operating procedures and particularly those which are detailed under key infrastructure process. 

      Key Requirements / Qualifications:

      Essential:

    • Available to work on Base full time 3/4 days week with SC clearance held.  
    • Have a sound knowledge of risk process and management.  
    • Able to objectively analyse data and information to form a big-picture view of risk.  
    • Process detailed information to identify trends.  
    • Organizational and leadership skills  
    • Experience of risk analysis for infrastructure works.  
    • Hands on experience of managing delivery and stakeholder management.  
    • Good IT skills.  
    • Minimum10 years’ experience with at least 5 years in a management role. 

      Desirable:

    • In-depth knowledge of their industry, including competitors and adversaries  
    • Ability to communicate effectively at an executive level.  
    • Ability to be agile and react to changes in the business environment.  
    • Experience of managing risk in complex live operational environment  
    • Experience of working in collaborative environment. 
    • Membership of Relevant professional body.
