EC&I Designer

EC&I Designer - Huddersfield 

Altrad are currently looking for an EC & I Designer to join the team at Huddersfield to take ownership and responsibility for the execution of all assigned work , to deliver fit for purpose , practical engineering design in line with specification, budget and programme.In this role, you will actively support and promote all company and Client site directives – HSEQ, best practice, innovations and continual improvement.

Key Deliverables:

• Produce new and update existing detailed EC&I design documentation; typically - loop diagrams, control panel schematics, field connection diagrams, I/O schedules, control circuits, failsafe circuits, LV power distribution & protection, single line diagrams, control panel GAs and layouts, instrument air distribution and control, instrument air system layouts, instrumentation hook-ups, functional testing procedures
• Comply with both national and site standards
• Carry out site surveys
• Compile document work packs
• Comply with company and site procedures; typically – Engineering design, project control, documentation control, procurement, verification
• Support other activities; typically – estimating, commissioning, hand-over, procurement
• Contribute to team(s) to support continual improvement
• Work independently, using own initiative 
  

Essential:

• ONC / HNC or equivalent in Electrical / Control / Instrumentation / Engineering discipline

Desirable:

• HSEQ qualification (i.e. IOSH)
• CompEx – ExF (foundation), EXF+ (foundation plus) or Ex01-04 (Gas & Vapours), Ex05-06 (Dust), or Ex12 (Application Design Engineers)
• Functional Safety, IEC61508 – TUV or equivalent
• BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations - C&G2382-15 or equivalent
• CDM regulations
• 5 years recent experience in an equivalent role
• Industrial sector Engineering
• EC&I Engineering documentation – loop diagrams, control panel schematics, field connection diagrams, I/O schedules, control circuits, failsafe circuits, LV power distribution & protection, single line diagrams, control panel GAs and layouts, instrument air distribution and control, instrument air system layouts, instrumentation hook-ups, functional testing procedures
• Strong PC skills – AutoCAD, MS Office, drafting tools, document databases, specialist Engineering design tools.
