Workpack Engineer - Bridgwater

Altrad is seeking an experienced Construction Work Pack Engineer to join the Specialist Projects Team at Hinkley Point C (HPC). The successful candidate will support the pre-planning and delivery of construction activities by developing, reviewing and maintaining accurate, compliant construction workpacks, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Visual Task Sheets (VTS).

The role will ensure documentation meets project requirements, supports safe and efficient site execution, and remains current throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain construction workpacks, ITPs, VTS and supporting documentation.
• Ensure workpacks include current drawings, specifications, procedures, method statements, vendor installation guides and client requirements.
• Collaborate with construction, engineering, safety, quality and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure documentation complies with relevant project, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Ensure all construction workpacks are reviewed in accordance with established review cycles, maintaining compliance with review schedules and ensuring documentation remains current and fit for purpose.
• Review and update workpacks in response to design changes, revised requirements and new project information.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records, supporting quality assurance and document control processes.
• Identify potential issues ahead of construction activities and report concerns to the Construction Manager.
• Support construction planning, site execution and continuous improvement across the Specialist Projects Team.

Key Requirements / Qualifications

• Relevant site-based experience as a Workpack Engineer, Construction Engineer, Project Engineer or similar.
• Demonstrable experience developing and compiling construction workpacks on major projects.
• Good understanding of construction activities, engineering documentation and site execution requirements.
• Experience preparing and reviewing ITPs, with knowledge of quality assurance processes.
• Relevant technical or trade qualifications and discipline-specific experience are desirable.
• Understanding of applicable engineering standards, industry codes and UK nuclear site requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet review deadlines.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement within a multidisciplinary construction environment.
