Senior Construction Manager - Whitehaven

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience within the Nuclear or other highly regulated industries and will play a key role in delivering engineering excellence through technical leadership, discipline expertise, and support to engineering teams.

You will be aligned to the Construction Delivery Team throughout the project lifecycle and responsible for ensuring that construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project objectives. The role provides leadership across multiple work fronts and construction delivery teams and will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to support successful delivery. This role requires security clearance, applicants must meet the applicable UK nationality and residency requirements.

Key Deliverables:

• Lead delivery across assigned project area.
• Provide direct leadership and governance of construction delivery teams and contractor management arrangements.
• Manage Construction Managers and site teams.
• Drive contractor performance and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with site licence and CDM obligations.
• Lead constructability and construction readiness reviews.
• Ensure effective management of safety, quality, schedule, cost and risk within your area of responsibility.
• Promote Project Delivery Fundamentals, Learning from Experience and continuous improvement.
• Manage interfaces between construction disciplines, logistics, commissioning and operational stakeholders.
• Support the discharge of Principal Contractor duties under CDM 2015 including planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating construction work.
• Support progressive assurance, completion, system handover and operational readiness activities.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

• Minimum Level 6 NVQ in Construction Management 
• Significant construction management experience.
• Relevant engineering or construction qualification.
• Experience managing large field teams.
