Grinder - Hartlepool

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Grinder to join the team at Hartlepool for the upcoming outage project.

The work pattern for this position is 12/2, dayshift 7.30 - 18.00 & nightshift 19.00 to 7.00. This is a fixed term position which requires you to be willing to undergo or currently hold CTC clearance. Starting 18^th March 2027 until 13^th May approx.

The position is paid under NAECI agreements, with lodge and travel paid where applicable. Pay rate: £22.50 per hour

Key Deliverables:

• Carrying out checks on material removal both Grinding and Polishing.
• Identifying and assessing defects and variations and taking appropriate action.
• Work in accordance with safe systems of work including permits, risk assessments and POWRA.
• Rough Grinding and Cutting off Surface Grinding and Polishing
• Precision Grinding
• Achievement of tasks and targets set by Charge-hand and/or supervisor.
• Produce good quality work to contract / specification requirement
• Demonstration of abilities in different environments.
• Rough Grinding and Cutting off: The aim is to remove as much material as possible, surface finish is of minor importance
• Surface Grinding and Polishing: The aim is to attain a high quality polished finish without deforming or changing the materials dimensions
• preparation of materials to a specific standard to enable NDT ie access by UT probe.
• Precision Grinding: The aim is to remove material from small areas or spots from cavities or other confined spaces
• Sound knowledge and understanding of trade specific equipment and assembly
• Effective communication skills
• Adherence to health and safety policy and procedures 

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

• Managing Safely
• Abrasive Wheels Regulations (PUWER)
• Successful completion of a grinding course or assessment
• Must be CTC cleared or willing to undergo clearance
• CCNSG Safety Passport
