Construction Work Pack Engineer - Bridgwater

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Construction Work Pack Engineer to join the team.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience within a construction, engineering, or major projects environment and will play a key role within the pre-planning construction team. The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining construction workpacks, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Visual Task Sheets (VTS), ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, compliant, and aligned with project requirements.

Key Deliverables:

• Develop detailed construction workpacks and associated documentation to support the safe and efficient delivery of construction activities.
• Prepare and maintain Construction Workpacks, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Visual Task Sheets (VTS).
• Collaborate with construction, safety, engineering, and other project stakeholders to develop comprehensive workpack documentation.
• Ensure workpacks contain all relevant information, including drawings, specifications, procedures, method statements, and supporting documentation required for successful execution of works.
• Ensure workpacks incorporate the latest issued vendor and supplier installation guides and relevant client information.
• Review and revise Construction Workpacks when new or changed information becomes available.
• Maintain workpacks in accordance with required periodic review cycles and ensure all documentation remains current.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure construction documentation meets the required standards.
• Ensure documentation complies with applicable safety, environmental, quality, and industry requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to construction workpack documentation.
• Identify and report issues or concerns relating to upcoming construction activities to the Construction Manager.
• Support the construction team throughout the planning and preparation phases of project delivery.
• Review construction information and documentation to identify potential issues prior to commencement of site activities.
• Apply relevant industry codes, standards, procedures, and project requirements when compiling construction documentation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of workpack development and document control processes.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

• Relevant site-based experience with previous experience as a Workpack Engineer, Construction Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar role.
• Demonstrable experience in developing and compiling construction workpacks.
• Previous experience working on major construction or engineering projects.
• Preferably discipline-specific experience supported by relevant trade or technical qualifications.
• Good understanding of construction activities, engineering documentation, and site execution requirements.
• Familiarity with industry-specific terminology, codes, standards, and procedures.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant engineering and construction standards.
• Experience developing and reviewing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance systems and processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of project stakeholders.
• Confident use of IT and Microsoft Office software.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workpacks and changing project requirements.
• Ability to identify issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions within a project environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary construction team.
• Awareness of UK nuclear site licence conditions and the requirements associated with working within a nuclear construction environment.
• Experience working on a construction site and within a major project environment.
• Ability to adapt workpack documentation in response to changing project requirements and new information.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
