  • About The Role

  • Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to join the team in Plymouth.

    As a Lead Civil Engineer, is a key onsite full-time role. You will be responsible for the civil and structural engineering requirements whilst working as part of the Defence team.

    Working pattern: On-site 5 days a week.

     

    Key Deliverables:

    • Identify project functional requirements, Works Information, preparation of GI specifications, responding to Technical Queries, Requests for Information (RFI) for the project.
    • Manage engineering support to the project.
    • Support project optioneering process.
    • Review and accept project drawings and documentation.
    • Manage detailed design activities in accordance with project standards.
    • Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments.
    • Provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.
    • Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning (as required).
    • Liaise and consult with stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
    • Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality on Site.
    • The post holder will be expected to support delivery within their range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence.
    • Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism.
    Key Requirements / Qualifications:
     
    Essential
     
    • Experience of developing design assurance for complex projects
    • Experience in civil engineering for complex projects
    • Experience in stakeholder engagement throughout the engineering lifecycle
    Desirable
     
    • Experience in a defence sector.
    • Experience in civil sector.
    • Experience of design delivery within defence projects.
    • Experience in engineering lifecycle management.
    • Chartered Engineer
