Senior Project Manager - Middlesbrough

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO).

The successful candidate will have extensive experience delivering complex, multi-discipline engineering, construction, nuclear, defence, energy and infrastructure projects and will play a key role in providing project and programme leadership, ensuring safe, compliant and profitable delivery while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting business growth.

Key Deliverables:

• Lead large and complex projects and programmes from initiation through to close out, ensuring delivery against safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives.
• Lead multidisciplinary project delivery teams and optimise the use of people, financial and technical resources.
• Maintain accountability for project governance, risk management, change control and commercial performance.
• Act as the principal interface with customers, stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Ensure compliance with Altrad procedures, client requirements and relevant legislation.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, innovation and the adoption of industry best practice.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and professional development to project teams.
• Support bid activities, project reviews and wider strategic business initiatives.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, customer representatives, engineering and technical teams, commercial and finance teams, operations and delivery managers, supply chain partners and subcontractors.
• Monitor project safety performance, compliance, schedule, budget, margin and overall financial performance.
• Effectively manage project risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation and actions are implemented.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure customer expectations are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promote team engagement, capability development and a positive project culture.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering, technical or related discipline.
• Professional project management qualification or membership, such as APM, PMI or equivalent.
• Extensive experience delivering major engineering, construction, infrastructure or complex technical programmes.
• Strong commercial, contract and financial management capability.
• Expert understanding of project risk management, governance and stakeholder management.
• Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing complex project environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to deliver projects safely and profitably while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Experience managing project delivery against agreed safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives.
• Strong understanding of change control, project governance and commercial performance management.
• Experience working with clients, supply chain partners, subcontractors and internal stakeholders across complex project environments.
• Demonstrable experience supporting bid activities, project reviews and strategic business initiatives.
• Strong understanding of continuous improvement, lessons learned, innovation and best practice.
• Ability to effectively manage risk and opportunity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Demonstrable commitment to team development, mentoring and professional capability building.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels.
