Thermal Insulation Engineer - Expression Of Interest UK Wide

Altrad is currently seeking experienced Thermal Installation Engineers to support major projects across the UK, including opportunities within the nuclear sector.

We welcome expressions of interest from qualified Thermal Installation Engineers who are looking for their next project in 2026 and beyond.

These roles offer the chance to work on nationally significant infrastructure projects. 

Key Deliverables:

• Follow all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and site requirements.
• Participate in pre-job briefings and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Work safely and efficiently as part of a team.
• Read and follow method statements, risk assessments, and work instructions.
• Select and install appropriate thermal insulation materials and finishes for a range of applications.
• Safely remove, repair, and reinstate insulation systems in line with industry standards (BS 5970) and client specifications.
• Use and maintain tools and equipment correctly.
• Identify and report safety concerns, hazards, defects, incidents, and near misses.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and maintain a professional approach at all times.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and keep work areas clean and organised.
  

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Rigging, Erecting, Moving Loads, or a related discipline, with relevant industry qualifications and certifications.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Thermal Insulation, or City & Guilds 619 Craft Studies (or equivalent).
• Valid Thermal Insulation CSCS Gold Card (desirable).
• Current CCNSG Safety Passport.
• Good understanding of thermal insulation installation practices and industry standards.
• Ability to work safely, follow procedures, and interpret risk assessments and method statements.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
