Capability Integration Governance Lead – Helensburgh

About the role:
The Governance & Reporting Manager is responsible for managing programme governance, reporting and assurance activities to support effective decision-making, project control and delivery confidence. The role ensures accurate and timely reporting, coordinates governance processes, and works with stakeholders to gather, analyse and communicate project information throughout the project lifecycle. Operating within a complex infrastructure environment, the role requires strong programme management skills to manage interdependencies, support integration across multiple projects, and deliver at pace within an operational naval base.
Key Deliverables:
- Develop and maintain project governance, RACI matrices, processes and standard operating procedures to support consistent project delivery.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement, change control and decision management, ensuring robust governance and compliance with project processes.
- Oversee risk, issues, dependencies and opportunities (RAIDO), ensuring accurate reporting and effective integration into project governance.
- Monitor project schedules, planning and governance reporting, ensuring accurate information is provided to support informed decision-making.
- Support project controls, document management, lessons learned and project administration, driving compliance, continuous improvement and effective project delivery.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
Essential:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a governance role
- Working knowledge of governance, risk, scheduling and process.
- Available to work on site full time at a minimum of 2 days maximum of 4 days per week based upon business need as agreed by customer/client line manager
- Sole UK National Citizen
- SC clearance held/gained in advance of commencing in the role
- Have a sound knowledge of project governance activities
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Able to objectively analyse data and information to form a big-picture view
- Process detailed information to identify relevant key points to brief seniors
- Organisational and leadership skills
- Working experience of project control activities for infrastructure works
- Hands on experience of ensuring stakeholder engagement in project management
- Good IT skills including competent user of MS 365 appliances, Power BI and JIRA
- Experience of working as part of a collaborative environment
Desirable:
- In-depth knowledge of the Government project delivery framework
- Ability to communicate effectively at executive level
- Ability to be agile to react and reprioritise to changes in the Defence environment
- Experience of managing stakeholders and delivery in complex live operational environment
- Membership of Relevant professional body
