Mechanical Delivery Lead - Bridgwater

Altrad are seeking an experienced and technically capable Mechanical Delivery Lead to act as the MEH JV focal point for all matters relating to the mechanical installation scope on Hinkley Point C.

This role will be based at Hinkley Point C on a permanent basis and will provide technical leadership across mechanical installation activities, including piping, HVAC and equipment. Working as part of the MEH JV, you will lead and support a team of mechanical resources, provide specialist knowledge across defined areas and work closely with construction, commercial, planning, quality and supply chain teams to ensure safe, consistent and efficient delivery. The role will also support the development and implementation of an end-to-end mechanical services installation strategy aligned with the wider site area delivery strategy.

Key Deliverables / Accountabilities:

• Act as the MEH JV focal point for all matters relating to the mechanical installation scope.
• Lead and support a team of mechanical resources, providing specialist knowledge and acting as the Subject Matter Expert across defined areas.
• Provide reporting and support to the MEH JV Construction Manager on all matters relating to mechanical services.
• Provide safety advice and guidance relating to the installation of mechanical equipment, systems and services.
• Support the development and delivery of an end-to-end mechanical services installation strategy aligned with the site area delivery strategy.
• Drive consistency in delivery standards across the project-wide area delivery structure.
• Ensure best-for-project interface decisions are implemented consistently across multiple areas and buildings.
• Liaise and coordinate constructability activities with the supply chain, ensuring a consistent approach to mechanical installation.
• Support the MEH JV commercial team by providing accurate cost advice for mechanical services installation activities.
• Support the MEH JV planning team in developing accurate schedule advice for mechanical services installation activities.
• Support the MEH JV quality team in developing appropriate Inspection and Test Plans for mechanical services installation activities.
• Provide accurate performance and progress information to support weekly and monthly MEH JV reporting of on-site installation activities.
• Work with relevant stakeholders to provide input into resource management across both white-collar and blue-collar resources.
• Support strategic pre-planning for the movement and erection of multiple equipment types, including logistics, plant, equipment and resource planning.
• Provide technical information and advice to support the wider HPC project.
• Identify, manage and support the mitigation of risks associated with mechanical services installation activities.
• Ensure mechanical installation activities are delivered in accordance with applicable Health, Safety and Environmental standards and project requirements.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in project management and delivery of complex mechanical installation activities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental standards and requirements.
• Confident use of IT and Microsoft Office software.
• Experience within a nuclear environment is preferred but not essential.
• Awareness of UK nuclear site licence conditions and their application.
• Awareness of UK CDM regulations.
• High level of technical knowledge relating to the safe handling and installation of mechanical systems.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, including construction, commercial, planning, quality and supply chain functions.
